In brief
- When ordering a Denora bed, carry-in and assembly can be selected separately.
- Our team then arranges delivery, carries the furniture parts inside and assembles the bed in the room.
- The delivery route depends on doors, corridor turns, the lift, stairs and the largest package.
- For self-carrying, measure every narrow point in advance and clear the route.
- The exact package dimensions determine the final fit, so confirm them before delivery.
The simplest plan when buying a Denora bed is to select furniture carry-in and furniture assembly when ordering. These services are separate from standard delivery. Once added to the order, our team carries the packages inside and assembles the bed in place.
Before delivery, still provide exact information about the floor, lift, stairs and doors. This helps the team plan the work and assess difficult points in advance.
Straight doorway check
Enter the three dimensions of the largest package and the clear doorway width and height. The tool checks whether the package cross-section can pass straight through in at least one orientation.
This check does not assess corridor turns, stairs, lifts, projecting frames or space for people to hold the package. Use it as a first filter and confirm the complete route with the Denora team.
Straight-opening calculator
This check covers only a straight rectangular opening. Turns, stairs, lifts, projections and handling space must be checked separately.
What to measure before delivery
First identify the largest package for the exact bed model. The headboard, a long frame side or the mattress often needs the most attention. A nominal mattress size such as 160×200 cm does not describe the bed-package dimensions.
Check the route from the outside door to the final bed position. Record the following in every section:
- Clear doorway width and height.
- The narrowest point in the corridor.
- Turning width before and after the door.
- Lift-door, cabin and diagonal dimensions.
- Stair width, landing depth and handrail projection.
- The lowest ceiling, light fitting or beam.
Measure only the clear opening. An open door leaf, handle, skirting board or radiator can reduce the real space. At turns, space on both sides matters because a long part must rotate.
Bed carry-in with Denora

When carry-in is selected, the delivery team moves the furniture parts to the stated floor. Provide the floor and lift details when ordering. If the stairs are narrow, doors non-standard or the route has a sharp turn, add this information in advance.
Before arrival, clear the corridor and move rugs, plants and light furniture. Keep pets safely in another room. Leave enough room in the bedroom to put down packages and lay out parts.
Carry-in reduces the customer's physical load and lets people who regularly move large furniture packages do the work. It is especially useful on upper floors, with narrow stairs or for a model with a large upholstered headboard.
Bed assembly in the room

With assembly service, specialists assemble the bed during delivery. The customer prepares clear space and shows where the furniture should stand. Assembly is selected as an additional service when ordering.
The team unpacks the structural parts, joins the frame, attaches the headboard, installs the base and checks mechanisms according to the model. The bed is left ready to use. For storage or lift mechanisms, check their operation together before the team leaves.
Carry-in and assembly solve different tasks. The first moves packages to the room; the second turns them into ready furniture. For a larger bed, selecting both is the most convenient option.
If you carry and assemble the bed yourself
Prepare two adults, protective gloves, soft corner guards and a clean place for parts. Do not open packages in the stairwell unless the instructions require it. Film and cardboard protect fabric and walls while moving.
The process is easier in this order:
- Check the number and labels of the packages.
- Inspect the full route to the room again.
- Carry long parts with two people and agree the turning direction in advance.
- Place packages on a clean base in the bedroom.
- Read the model instructions to the end.
- Assemble the frame on a level floor and tighten screws fully after aligning the structure.
- Check the base, mechanisms and bed stability.
Do not lift heavy parts alone. Hold the headboard and long sides only at structural points permitted by the instructions. Do not use fabric loops, decorative seams or lifting handles as carrying points.
When to contact us before ordering
Ask for advice when the lift is small, stairs are spiral, the doorway is unusually narrow or the flat has several sharp turns. Also mention restricted access, paid parking, courtyard gates and delivery-time rules in the building.
Compare the external dimensions of specific models in the bed collection. Contact the Denora team about package, carry-in and assembly conditions before delivery day.
Frequently asked questions
Does standard delivery include carry-in and assembly?
Carry-in and assembly are optional services unless a specific order states otherwise. Select the services when ordering or arrange them with the Denora team.
What should be measured to see whether a bed fits through the door?
You need the largest package length, width and height, the clear doorway and enough space to turn the package. Also check corridors, the lift, stairs and projecting details.
Can a bed be carried in as separate parts?
Most beds arrive in disassembled packages, but the number and size depend on the model. Do not open packages in shared areas without a clear plan and a safe place for the parts.
When is bed assembly service worthwhile?
It is especially useful for a larger upholstered bed or a model with storage, a lift mechanism or a tall headboard. Specialists install the structure and check its operation in place.
What should be prepared before delivery?
Clear the route from the entrance to the room, prepare space for packages and provide details about the floor, lift and difficult turns. Leave working space around the bed position.
