Hallway ideas

Hallway ideas for a warm welcome and a smooth start to the day. Denora invites you to create an entrance where it is easy to take off a coat, put down a bag, find your keys and take one last look in the mirror before leaving.

A place for everything by the door

Think about what you do first when you come home. A small dish or drawer works for keys, a dedicated shelf for a bag and an easy-to-reach hook for everyday coats. Keep shoes near the entrance so they do not have to be carried through the whole hallway. If several family members get ready at the same time, spread storage along the available wall and leave clear space for changing shoes.

Furniture for a narrow hallway

In a narrow hallway, first check the depth of the furniture and how much space open doors will take. Door handles, radiators and switches must remain accessible. A small bench can sit below the coat hooks, with a shelf for small items above it. Choose a mirror position where you can step back and where hanging clothes or an open door to the next room will not block it.

Order through the changing seasons

Keep everyday shoes and clothes closest to the entrance, and store seasonal items on separate shelves or in the upper part of a wardrobe. A basket for each family member is useful for gloves, hats and scarves. Leave space by the door for a wet umbrella and damp footwear. When choosing a mat, check that the door will open freely above it and consider how it will be cleaned.

For your home

Hallway console tables

Give keys, post or a favourite vase a place on a console table that sits neatly against the wall.
